1. Agreement
These Terms are an agreement between you and Granvure LLC, the operator of Shift. By creating an account, purchasing Shift Pro, or continuing to use Shift after being shown these Terms, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Shift.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. Shift is not directed to children under 13.
2. The Shift service
Shift is a consumer planning application for work schedules, personal calendar events, reminders, estimated pay, deterministic questions, and optional sharing. Shift is not an employer scheduling system, time clock, payroll processor, tax service, legal service, emergency alert, or guaranteed alarm.
You are responsible for checking your employer’s official schedule, time records, pay statements, policies, contracts, and applicable law. Features may change as we improve the service, but ending Shift Pro never deletes your existing Shift-owned data.
3. Accounts and security
Core local features do not require an account. Sharing, Cloud Ask, purchases, restoration, and data requests require a supported account. A planner created for or deliberately bound to an account remains stored on that installation but is locked when you sign out and cannot be opened by another account. An anonymous planner remains anonymous unless you explicitly bind it; binding does not upload or synchronize it. Provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless prohibited by law.
4. Shift Free and Shift Pro
Shift Free provides the complete one-profile local planner, including every launch rotation type and future edit, Today, Calendar and optional device-calendar tools, pay estimates, local reminders, and deterministic Local Quick Questions. Shift Pro adds more work profiles, advanced pay-rule configuration, read-only sharing, and Cloud Ask. Cross-device planner sync is not included in this release.
Shift Pro is an auto-renewable subscription billed through your Apple account. It renews for the store-displayed period unless canceled through Apple before renewal. You can restore purchases and open subscription management from Shift. Apple handles billing, cancellation, eligible refunds, family purchase behavior, taxes, grace periods, and billing retry under its terms. Deleting your Shift account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
If access expires, is refunded, or is revoked, new extra work profiles, advanced pay-rule edits, new sharing activity, and Cloud Ask become unavailable. Existing profiles and owned data remain preserved; core schedule and planner editing continues, and prior advanced pay configuration stays readable and reproducible. We do not guarantee a free trial or promotional price unless the App Store purchase sheet displays it.
5. Pay estimates
All pay amounts in Shift are estimates based on the wage rates, pay periods, breaks, overtime thresholds, night/weekend differentials, holiday rules, fixed add-ons, schedule records, and other information you provide. Calculations use deterministic application rules and effective-dated history.
Estimates may differ from actual pay because employers, contracts, jurisdictions, payroll systems, taxes, deductions, rounding, bonuses, tips, leave, premiums, and corrections vary. Shift does not determine wage-law compliance and does not provide payroll, tax, accounting, union-contract, or legal advice. Do not rely on an estimate to make a legal claim or replace an official pay statement.
6. Local Quick Questions and Cloud Ask
Local Quick Questions use deterministic Shift tools on your device and do not use generative AI. Cloud Ask is an optional Pro feature that uses OpenAI to interpret flexible language and explain deterministic tool results. The model may be incomplete, unavailable, or misunderstand a request.
The language model is not authoritative and may not independently calculate dates, shifts, duration, availability, hours, overtime, differentials, pay, or conflicts. Confirm important information in the underlying Shift calendar and your employer’s records. Do not submit secrets or information you are not authorized to process. Misuse, automation abuse, attempts to bypass quotas or entitlements, and prompt-injection attacks are prohibited.
7. Your content and sharing
You retain ownership of information you enter into Shift. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, back up, and display that information only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Shift according to the Privacy Policy.
Only share information you have the right to use. When inviting a partner or family member, you choose the authorized scope and remain responsible for that choice. Launch sharing is read-only and excludes pay information. You can revoke access in the app.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Shift to violate law or another person’s rights; access another account without permission; probe or bypass security, entitlement, rate, or quota controls; upload malicious code; interfere with the service; scrape or resell it; impersonate another person; or use Cloud Ask to generate unlawful or harmful content. We may limit or suspend abusive activity to protect users and the service.
9. Third-party services
Shift relies on platform and service providers including Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, OpenAI, PostHog, Sentry, Expo, and calendars you choose to connect. Their availability and terms may affect optional features. We are not responsible for an external calendar provider, employer system, or other service you control, though we remain responsible for our own obligations.
10. Suspension, deletion, and changes
You may stop using Shift at any time. Authenticated users can separately export device-planner data and supported cloud account data in More → Data controls. Closing a device-export share sheet is not confirmation that another app received or retained the archive, and Shift does not erase the planner after export. Cloud-account deletion may be queued immediately or after an optional seven-day delay. A delayed request may be cancelled only before processing begins; sharing is revoked at acceptance and is not automatically restored. Cloud completion does not automatically erase the device planner, external calendar copies, or App Store billing. After verified completion, choose explicitly whether eligible matching planner data becomes anonymous on the device or is erased. A missing or unreadable receipt keeps data locked but does not prevent separately confirmed local erase. Handle external calendar copies and billing through the connected calendar and Apple.
We may suspend access to protect accounts, comply with law, investigate abuse, or address material security risks. We may update these Terms and will provide notice when required. If a material change is unacceptable, stop using Shift and cancel Shift Pro before the next renewal.
11. Availability, warranties, and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, Shift is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted service, notification delivery, exact employer outcomes, or error-free third-party services. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, Granvure is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost wages, profits, data, or opportunities arising from use of Shift. Any limitation applies only to the extent lawful in your jurisdiction.
